In a small community of Sokpayiri, a suburb of Wa, the capital of Upper West Region, Ghana, Mahama Abdulai (17) was born into a family of football. Most of his family members play football and have made names in the region.
At the tender age, he was scouted by Mr. Mahama, popularly known as Anokye and was sent into the Anokye Stars junior side where he started playing football. He had gone through all most all levels of football at that club and has now been seen in the region and beyond as one of the best center backs in modern day football.
A modern day center back should be smart with ball, be a great passer and reads the game as well. This, can be found in him and some qualities which I may say are to be discovered. He is also a good ball distributor and can anticipate plays right before they happen. His compossure when he has the ball tells you he is a complete and great center back.

Currently, he plays for Tumu Liverpool Football Club in the Upper West Division Two League and has been the rock at the back of the team. He can be considered as the “Great Wall of China” in his team.
In every field you find yourself, you have to have someone you look up to, this, helps you work hard to be like your model. Mahama Abdulai has chosen Ghana Black Stars and Southampton center back, Mohammed Karim Salisu as his role model.

Before the start of the 2022/2023 Upper West Regional Division Two League, many football fans in the region were picking teams that are going to shine and to cause havoc to other and Discipline Youth Football Club were noted by just few fans, their own fans indeed.
Discipline Youth in the 2021/2022 season were a team that kept sharing points to whichever team they met and were regarded as walk over by many football lovers in the region.
In this year’s footballing season in that region that started three weeks ago, the Dondoli based teams have shown that they have learnt lessons from last season trauma they went through. Yes, we can say the season is still young but they have really proven that they are different from last season.
After three games, they have 9 points, scored 6 goals and are yet to concede a goal. This stats are parallel from that of last season. After matchday 3 in that season, they had conceded 7 and had no point. They have scored 4, 1 and 2 respectfully in the first 3 games of this season and have now become talk of the town.
Can they do what Wa United FC and Wa Power SC were trying to do last season but fell short at the latter part of the season? Only time will tell.
