In this write-up, we are going to look at the various middle league teams stats in the group phase of the league.

1. Wa Power Sporting Club

The “We Can” family is the best team in the group phase of the Upper West Regional Division II League. They have gone unbeaten in this round and are seen as the invincible of the league.

After 14 games, Wa Power Sporting Club have won 11 of those games, drawn 3, and lost none. They recorded one of the heaviest win in the league after beating Discipline Youth 6:1 on April 14, 2023, at the Watech School Park in matchday 10 of the league.

Wa Power Sporting Club will be a threat in the upcoming middle league.

2. Golden Football Club

Golden Football Club after losing the first three games of the first round went unbeaten until matchday 14 which they lost against Wa Power Sporting Club by a lone goal.

Golden FC have portrayed that they have quality to fight until the last breath is taken. After 14 games in the Upper West Regional Division II League, they won 9, drawn 1, and lost only 4.

The Serekpere based team will be a thorn in the flesh of other teams in the upcoming middle league.

3. Wa United Football Club

Nicknamed “The Zebras” have fought their hearts out in order to participate in their third straight middle league since the establishment of the institution.

As Zone A champions, have not shown much in the group phase of the Upper West Regional Division II League and maybe regarded as the underdogs in the upcoming middle league.

They are one of the best scoring side with 25 goals, and conceding 15. 27 points is what they have after 14 matches, winning 8, drawing 3 and losing 3.

The Zebras in their second season, had had 29 points, scored 29 goals, and conceded 13 goals. They were the side that scored more goals. These stats changed after some protest cases were written.

The Zebras have won 6 matches before winning protest cases against Wa FC and Ziko Babies FC. These cases enabled to raise their number of matches won to eight and helped them top the zone ahead of Wa FC.

4. Wa Football Club

Wa Football Club is a team with experienced players who have played in the middle league before and are eager to qualify the Dondoli based team into a second tier team.

Wa FC have only lost once during the group phase of the league against Tumu Liverpool FC at the Sombo Pepsi Park which they saw as their rivals, and were leading the zone until last minute of the round.

After 14 matches of the Upper West Division II League, Wa FC have won 8 matches, drawn 2, and lost 4, accumulating 26 points and qualifying as runner-up of the zone behind Wa United FC.

Wa FC from last season won 7, drawn 4 and lost 3 games. And they could not qualify for the middle league, after accumulating 25 points.

They have 29 goals, the second most in the group phase behind Wa Power Sporting Club, and conceding 16 goals. They are the team among the six middle league teams to have conceded most goal.

5. Hilla Stars

Hilla Stars last season did not participate in the league but came back in a style that made them on the various airwaves across the region and beyond.

The Gboluu based club went unbeaten in the first round of the league and conceding just a goal, which saw them as one of the two teams that achieve this in the league.

The second round saw them lost two games and their unbeaten streak got spoiled. After 12 matches in the Upper West Regional Division II League in Zone C, Hilla Stars won 8, drawn 2, and lost 2. They have had 26 points after scoring 11 goals and conceding 6.

Their defense became porous in the second round of the league which saw them lost two games.

They are a team that will cause a lot of havoc in the upcoming middle league.

6. Kowie Eva Stars

Eva Stars just like their brothers from the Tumu zone did not take part in last season’s Division II League, but have in this season stronger.

They were not seen as a team that can go pass the group phase at the beginning of the league but have turned things round at the latter part of the season.
