Sadio Mane Surprising Mother.

Sadio Mane

Sadio Mané: “I remember the first day I arrived in France to take tests and sign with FC Metz. I was supposed to train from the day I arrived but the coach told me to stay at home. And I had no credit on my phone card to call my mother and tell her that I had gone to France. The next day, I went with some of my friends who were already in Metz to buy some I called her and told her: “Hello mom, I’m in France”.

She said to me: “What, which France?”. She couldn’t believe it! I said: “France in Europe”. She replied: “What do you mean by Europe? You live in Senegal, you are supposed to be with your uncle”. I then said “yes but now I am in Europe”. She was amazed, it was crazy! She was so surprised that she called me every day to ask me if it was true. She didn’t believe me until one day I told her to go watch TV to see me play. She finally understood that my dream had come true “.

MAKE-UP

Your makeup is the sum of what makes you who you are, or the sum of what you smear on your face! You could say that your makeup is a combination of your parents’ genes. Or, you could wear cosmetic makeup to accentuate those physical traits.
Your makeup is every personality characteristic that, combined, form a unique person — but the makeup you put on your face can be used to disguise your real self a little bit. This kind of makeup is also called cosmetics, and it consists of things like lipstick, mascara, foundation, and so on. This meaning of makeup has been in use since the 1880s, a period when Queen Victoria declared it vulgar, only appropriate for stage actors
It is generally true that most people eat with care to ensure that what they ingest supports major internal organ function. When cooking, simple and clean ingredients often create the best cuisine. The same principle should hold true for the makeup that clients use on a daily basis to enhance, not mask, their appearance. Makeup is meant to enhance outer beauty without harming the skin. The skin is the largest organ of the body. It is a protective shell that needs to breathe and be nourished and nurtured.
As part of a daily routine, most women use makeup to enhance their appearance. According to statistics, one in three women will not leave home without wearing makeup. Most wear 60 percent more than is necessary. So some may question if more masking, as opposed to enhancing, is occurring. Assuming these research statistics are in fact true, knowing it varies by geography and ethnicity, would it not be wise for women to choose what they wear on their skin?

The key ingredients present in most cosmetics include water, emulsifiers, preservatives, thickeners, moisturisers, colours and fragrances.
Ingredients can be naturally occurring or artificial, but any potential impact on our health depends mainly on the chemical compounds they are made of.
The doses of potentially dangerous chemicals found in cosmetics are considered too small to pose a risk to human health.

Make up – Advantages

  • Sometimes makeup removes the signs of age and makes a women look more fresh and young.
  • Makeup makes you creative, It’s just like doing arts and of course experimenting new things on your face which kind of makes you your own scientist.
  • It enhances your beauty and you look more fresh and pretty.

Make up – Disadvantages:

  • Makeup can cause skin cancer.
  • If you apply too much makeup it may damage your skin.
  • Applying too much makeup can make your skin rough. If your skin is still smooth and nice and you wear makeup every single day then it can make you skin rough.
  • Cosmetics include a wide range of products. Some of these can cause health problems in some people, such as skin or eye irritation or allergic reactions. These types of problems are usually short-term and go away if use of the product is stopped.
  • Excessive use of lip balms and lipsticks can cause breakdowns around your mouth which can cause irritation.

RESPECT

Respect has great importance in everyday life. As children we are taught (one hopes) to respect our parents, teachers, and elders, school rules and traffic laws, family and cultural traditions, other people’s feelings and rights, our country’s flag and leaders, the truth and people’s differing opinions. And we come to value respect for such things; when we’re older, we may shake our heads (or fists) at people who seem not to have learned to respect them. We develop great respect for people we consider exemplary and lose respect for those we discover to be clay-footed, and so we may try to respect only those who are truly worthy of our respect. We may also come to believe that, at some level, all people are worthy of respect. We may learn that jobs and relationships become unbearable if we receive no respect in them; in certain social milieus we may learn the price of disrespect if we violate the street law: “Diss me, and you die.” Calls to respect this or that are increasingly part of public life: environmentalists exhort us to respect nature, foes of abortion and capital punishment insist on respect for human life, members of racial and ethnic minorities and those discriminated against because of their gender, sexual orientation, age, religious beliefs, or economic status demand respect both as social and moral equals and for their cultural differences. And it is widely acknowledged that public debates about such demands should take place under terms of mutual respect. We may learn both that our lives together go better when we respect the things that deserve to be respected and that we should respect some things independently of considerations of how our lives would go.

We may also learn that how our lives go depends every bit as much on whether we respect ourselves. The value of self-respect may be something we can take for granted, or we may discover how very important it is when our self-respect is threatened, or we lose it and have to work to regain it, or we have to struggle to develop or maintain it in a hostile environment. Some people find that finally being able to respect themselves is what matters most about getting off welfare, kicking a disgusting habit, or defending something they value; others, sadly, discover that life is no longer worth living if self-respect is irretrievably lost. It is part of everyday wisdom that respect and self-respect are deeply connected, that it is difficult if not impossible both to respect others if we don’t respect ourselves and to respect ourselves if others don’t respect us. It is increasingly part of political wisdom both that unjust social institutions can devastatingly damage self-respect and that robust and resilient self-respect can be a potent force in struggles against injustice.

Despite the widespread acknowledgment of the importance of respect and self-respect in moral and political life and theory, there is no settled agreement in either everyday thinking or philosophical discussion about such issues as how to understand the concepts, what the appropriate objects of respect are, what is involved in respecting various objects, what the conditions are for self-respect, and what the scope is of any moral requirements regarding respect and self-respect. This entry will survey these and related issues.

Messi, Ronaldo & Lewandowski… 5 current favourites for Ballon d’Or in 2020

Ballon d’Or is hands-down the biggest individual award in the world of football.

Only a few of the finest footballers have managed to win the prestigious prize. Lionel Messi was the most recent recipient of the award, winning it for a record sixth time in his career.

The usual suspects lead the discussion for the favourites to win the football Oscars this year, with the likes of Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo leading the race once again. But with both forwards not getting any younger, the next generation of football players have now come into contention.

Here, we look at 5 favourites to win the Ballon d’Or 2020.

De Bruyne – Man City

Arguably the best midfielder in the Premier League right now. Kevin de Bruyne’s importance to Manchester City cannot be overstated, with the Belgian a crucial cog in Pep Guardiola’s system.

De Bruyne joined Manchester City from Wolfsburg in 2015 for a then club-record fee of £55 million. Much was made of the fee, with many critics believing that City had overpaid for the midfielder. His previous stint in the Premier League had not gone well, with Chelsea deciding to move him on.

However, de Bruyne has transformed into one of the best midfielders in the world. His creativity and world-class passing are well-renowned. Meanwhile, his trademark low, drilled cross into the box makes it hard for opposition defenders to deal with, while City attackers benefit from it.

De Bruyne’s versatility on the football field has been well utilized by Guardiola. The 29-year old is capable of playing as a central midfielder, on the wings, and as an attacking midfielder. His talent is such that he excels in almost every position that he plays in.

After an injury-riddled 2018-19 season, de Bruyne has bounced back strongly. In 40 appearances for Manchester City, the Belgium international has scored 13 goals and provided 19 assists. He averages 3.5 key passes per game, the highest in the Premier League. He also manages 2.1 crosses per game, the second-highest in the league behind Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Mbappe – PSG

The future of football, but also the present. Kylian Mbappe’s rise through the ranks to become one of the best forwards in the world has been incredible. At just 21 years of age, Mbappe has achieved more in his career than most football player.

Mbappe joined Paris Saint Germain in 2017 after an exceptional breakthrough season with Monaco. The fee was £166 million, making him the most expensive teenager ever.

Mbappe has since gone on to become the star of a PSG team that also has Neymar, while also playing a leading role in the France national football team.

This season, he has been at his exceptional best. The Football World Cup-winner has made 33 appearances in all competitions for Thomas Tuchel’s side.

In that time, he has scored 30 goals and provided nine assists. His exceptional dribbling ability, as well as his pace and power on the football pitch has seen him compared to the Brazilian Ronaldo. A highly intelligent football player, his creativity has often gone unnoticed.

He averages 4.4 shots per game in the league, the second-highest in Ligue 1 behind Neymar. He also manages 2 key passes per game, third-highest in the PSG squad, behind Angel di Maria and Neymar.

Lewandowski – Bayern

It often feels like Robert Lewandowski’s quality goes unnoticed because he plays in Germany. Currently the best no.9 in the world, Lewandowski is ageing like a fine wine in the Bundesliga.

The Pole joined Bayern Munich from rivals Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer in 2014. Many have hailed it as the best free transfer in the history of football. Lewandowski’s impact in Bavaria has been incredible. Since his debut in 2014, the striker has made 285 appearances for the club in all competitions. He has scored an astounding 242 goals and provided 53 assists.

The 31-year old has won the Bundesliga top scorer in four out of his six seasons at Bayern Munich. His latest one was for the 2019-20 season, with the former Lech Poznan player at his clinical best.

The Poland international made 43 appearances in all competitions for Bayern Munich, scoring 52 goals and providing six assists. The Bavarians won their eighth consecutive league title, largely due to his efforts.

Ronaldo – Juventus

While Cristiano Ronaldo is yet to achieve what he came to Juventus for, there is no doubting the season he is having.

The Portuguese superstar continues to defy expectations by performing at the highest level possible. He is the talisman of the Juventus side, despite having joined just two summers ago.

Having signed with the Italian football giants from Real Madrid for a club-record fee of £88 million in 2018, Ronaldo’s record at the club has been incredible so far.

The 35-year old would like to get his hands on the Champions League trophy with the Bianconeri. However, for the time being, Juventus and Ronaldo continue to rule the roost in Serie A. The former Manchester United star has been in fine form this season as well, combining well with Paulo Dybala to form a potent attack for Maurizio Sarri.

In 39 appearances in all competitions for Juventus, Ronaldo has scored 29 goals and provided five assists. The Portugal international has been used as a left-winger as well as a striker by Sarri this season. He is the first player to score 25 goals for Juventus in the league since Omar Sivori in 1961.

Messi – Barcelona

There isn’t much new to be said about Lionel Messi. There are no secrets as far as he is concerned. Arguably the greatest player to have ever played the game, Messi’s legend rises with every game that he plays.

The Argentine continues to be Barcelona’s most important player, and “Messidependencia” is well and truly in full flow. Almost every good attacking move for Barcelona has Messi’s hand, or in this case, feet. He is the squad’s best creator, passer as well as goalscorer.

The 33-year old had some injury issues at the start of the season, but has returned to perform at his usual brilliant best. He has been utilised in a variety of positions by Ernesto Valverde as well as by his successor Quique Setien. No matter where he plays, Messi manages to deliver.

The forward has made 38 appearances in all competitions for the club this season, scoring 27 goals and providing 22 assists. He leads the football league for shots per game, key passes per game and dribbles per game.

While Barcelona may not win the league this season, there is no arguing that Messi is leading the race for the Ballon d’Or.

YOUTH OF TODAY

The youth of today have decided to change their own destinies. They have forgotten that a baby learns to sit before crawling, then walks. They feel the fingers are the same and must make it at all cost. Lots of social vices around, all in the name of making money.

The youth no longer believe in having a good Education and a simple life. They think and dream beyond that, they want fancy cars, beautiful mansions and lots of money forgetting life is not all about fancies. Money rituals and scamming has become the order of the day. For the side of scamming, they claim they are only taking back all that were stolen from their forefathers by the whites. Too bad!

The rot in the society today is too bad. It wasn’t learnt from our forefathers because they were men of honor and repute. Drug peddling is one of the menace amongst the youth today. People campaigned everywhere against it but its just doesn’t seem to end.

Where are we(youth) going to with this kind of lifestyle? When are the youth realizing whom they are in the society? Imagine the pillars of a building start breaking one after the other, what do you think will happen to the building?

They now turn deaf ears to the elders and feel their advices are nothing to write home about. Look at the number of youth that die everyday as a result of these vices. Something beneficial must be done to rescue the youth, leaders of tomorrow, pillars of the society, or else their lives will continue to be in limbo.

STUDENTS POLITICS

There is much better and delight watching the young waiting to take over the shackles of leadership. Student leaders look very vibrant ready to work and learn. All the promises and the beautiful notes they send out to their fellow students just to convince them for votes.

Insofaras there are elections and campaigns definitely conflict of interest is likely to occur.

Tribalism, Nepotism, Discrimination amongst others all set in. Where departments want their departmental representative to win and so. All because they belong to a particular section.

What about the Political Parties? The destructive force of all. They take advantage of these poor young students, sponsor their campaigns and influence them to get their policies forced across. At the end of the day, these youth we claim are the future, their minds are corrupted and contaminated.

They no longer try to help the poor populace who put them in power rather, they chase after monies and suck the resources of their institutions like mosquitoes.

Gone are the days when there was dignity in Student leadership, when Students admired their leaders in school. Today, Students leaders are nothing to write home about. They are blood thirsty vampires looking for money to feast on.

These students are the same people who build their political careers to the latter and mind you, may be the future leaders. With this attitude? I put this question across.

THE UNCOMPLETED PROJECTS IN GHANA

Indeed as a country, we have gotten to a stage where we politicised everything. Where we blame each other for our woes and mistakes. Where Government and Political Parties are blamed for not running the country as expected.

I would like to applaud TV3 for the initiative taken to make known to the Government and the General Public “The Deplorable State of Projects” started long time ago and left in limbo.

But come to think of it, the questions we should be asking ourselves are: Where are the Contractors who started these projects? Where are the Construction Companies who took charge of these projects? What if these Contractors are no more? What if some of these Contractors intend sold these projects to other people?

We should as a country find out more from these individuals and Companies why they stopped these projects and what they needed to continue before making our conclusions.

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
