Being a professional footballer is the dream job for many and it’s easy to see why. After all, it offers one the chance to become a millionaire by playing a game they love.

Not only that, but those who excel in the sport are, more often than not, revered and their legacies resonate for years, decades even.

However, it is an incredibly competitive industry, which demands dedication, consistency and sacrifice.

Dedication, Consistency, and Sacrifice, are key words to Footballers, especially, those within our part of the world, Wa Upper West Region, Ghana.

Late 90s and early 2000s were days Footballers in the region were play the game for passion, love and its beauty. Players were eager to devote their everything for the beauty of the game and were not getting the plorific opportunities players of today are getting. They were ready to roam the world anytime they get the chance.

They dedicated and sacrificed their time and everything just to see themselves at the higher level.

Today, in the region, the then players are much different from modern players. So sad to say this, but a big truth. Few among a lot sacrificed much of their time for the game and are consistent as well as pray to reach the pinnacle of their game.

It is imperative for a player to have what will take him travel the world over for the beautiful game.

Also, aspiring footballers must be willing to put in the work and that means applying themselves diligently to their craft, showing up on time to training, sometimes staying longer to hone the weaker parts of their game.

Again, a footballer needs to keep working hard. Once you eventually become a professional footballer, the hard work doesn’t stop. It’s crucial that you do not take your eye off the proverbial ball. Keep working hard, keep looking after your body and enjoy it as much as you can.
