As the Upper West Regional Division III League went on break after completion of the first round, Kalibi Sporting Club visit Greater Accra Region to engage in series of matches against some clubs.
They are set to play 5 games against the following clubs; Asanska Football Club, Auroras Football Club, Kotoku Shining Football Club and New Life Football Club.
The club will leave their base on Friday, March 15, 2024 and arrive at their destination on Saturday, March 16, 2024.

The Upper Regional Football Associations have confirmed the starting date of the regional division III league and released fixtures as well.
The league will start on Saturday, March 16, 2024 across the league centres. The teams are divided into two zones, Wa municipal and Tumu zones with each zone having six(6) teams.
Below are the fixtures for Wa municipal zone:


Captain of Sung Shining Ladies F.C, Suleiman Yazdadatu who is currently on loan at Hasaacas Ladies Football Club donated 10 bags of sachet water, drinks and an amount of GHC500 to the team after her national assignment with the National U-20 team (Black Princesses) for their world cup qualifier against Eswatini.

Yazdadatu was part of the travelling squad and played 5 minutes of the 6-1 victory and also got 37 minutes of playing time in the reverse fixture.

She expressed her excitement to the management and playing body of Sung Shining Ladies FC and encouraged her colleagues to make good use of the opportunity at the club.

The items were received by the team’s current captain, Kur Angelina and handed over to the General Manager, Abdulai Abdul Hafiz.

Sung Shining Ladies F.C. Our Captain Suleiman Yazdadatu who is currently on loan at Hasaacas Ladies Fc has made the Final squad travelling to Eswatini for the 2024 U-20 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers with the Black Princesses.
Coach of the Black Princesses, Coach Yussif Basigi has previously given her call ups but she couldn’t make up the final squads but through hardwork and perseverance, she made it this time around .


Club president of Sung Shinning Ladies Football Club, Rt Hon Alban S.K Bagbin has provided for the club Football Equipments through the Secretary-General of FIFA, Madam Fatma Samba Diouf Samura to support the Division One League outfit in the Upper West Region in their quest to get promotion into the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League.

Management of the club expressed their gratitude to the club’s President, Secretary-General of FIFA and FIFA for the Kind gesture and prays for more of such favours.

Sung Shinning Ladies Football Club PRO, Dimbie Jamaldeen and club CEO, Mr. Umar Tijani Farouk paid a visit to the President of the club who doubles as the Speaker of Ghana’s Parliament Rt. Hon. S.K Bagbin yesterday in his Office at the Parliament House to Discuss how to improve the team in the near future.
The President assured the management, players and supporters of the team of his full commitment and support in the project and aims at improving the lives of females in the country and neighbouring countries.
Sung Shinning Ladies FC will competing in the 2023/2024 MTN FA Cup.

Access Bank Division One League newbies have been busy in the market right after the end of the 2022/2023 season which they were champions of the Upper West Regional Division Two League unbeaten.
The “The Lions of North” have let go thirteen (13) of the players they used in the previous season. Seven (7) of them went on loan to clubs within the 3rd tier division. Six (6) of them too went on permanent deals.
Eighteen (18) of last season’s players have been retained by the “We Can” family as the club really have high hope on them. Champion defender Yakubu Nuhu, midfielder Issahaku Abdul Wahid and goalkeeper Jerry Angleoha have all been retained.
Wa Power Sporting Club have brought in twenty-two (22) players from GPL, Division One and Two clubs to strengthen their squad. Two of the new players, Peter Daud Mubashir and Isaac Waale were on loan to Tano Bofoakwa United FC and Wa Football Club respectively. In all Wa Power Sporting Club have in depth of 40 players.

Dream Football Club for the first time in the club’s history have reached the group stage of a continental competition.
The 2022/2023 MTN FA Cup winners got to this stage after kicking out Sierra Leone giants, Kallon FC in Monrovia, Liberia on a 3:2 aggregate having won the first leg in Accra by 2:1 and drawing the second leg by 1:1 far from home.
Dreams Football Club, who were initially finding it difficult to fund their participation in the CAF Confederation Cup have now secured their spot in the competition’s money zone.

The 2022/2023 betPawa Premier League champions have gained qualification into the group stage of the 2023/2024 CAF Champions League group stage with a 4:3 aggregate over Guinean giants, Horoya in a two legged matches.
Medeama Sporting Club won the first leg at the Cape Coast Stadium by 3:1 before making their journey to Conakry, the capital of Guinea for the second leg which they lost by 2:1. Despite the lost, they qualified on aggregate.
The Mauve and Yellow made history as they are the first Ghanaian club to reach this stage of the CAF Champions League after 11 years. This is also the first in the history of the club.
Medeama Sporting Club is set to earn $550,000 (GHC6,377,250.00) for reaching the group stage of the CAF Champions League this season.

Wa Suntaa Sporting Club are trying to straighten their squad ahead of the 2023/2024 Access Bank Division One League by bringing in new set of players.
Wa Suntaa Sporting Club have been in that division since 2016 after conquering the Upper West Regional Division Two League.

Abdulai Mukarama scores on her debut against Dreams Ladies Football Club for her new club in the Women’s Premier League Super Cup at the Kyebi Astro Turf on Friday, September 29, 2023.
Ivy Osei Owusu opened the scoring on the 23′ minute which stood same till the first half ends. On the 47′ minute, Abdulai Mukarama got the equalizer to the game level.
Abdulai Mukarama who joined Depotivo Alavés Women’s team in 2021 and left the club in 2023 after mutually agreeing to terminate her contract with the club.
Hasmal Ladies signed the former Northern Ladies Football Club and Alavés in Spain striker ahead of the 2023/2024 Malta Guinness Premier League until 2024/2025.

TF Exponential Football Club were held to a 1:1 draw against Maana Football Club in a pre-season friendly which was played at the Serekpere Primary School Park on Thursday, September 28, 2023.
Maana Football Club attacker, Pele opened the scoring on 10 minute before David getting the equalizer on the 37th minute, making the game 1:1 which stood same till the final whistle.
Both teams are preparing towards the new season as they both are eager to do much better than last season.

The Greater Accra Region will face Upper East region in the opening match of this year’s edition of the KGL Foundation Inter-regional U-17 Colts championship.
This will be followed by the second Group B match between Northern Region vs Volta Region at the Bantama Astro Turf on September 30,2023.
According to the draw which was held at the Conference room of the GFA on Friday, the opening games for Group A will see Central Region take on host Ashanti Region with Western Region set to take on Brong Ahafo Region.

This year’s competition will have the ten Regional Football Associations select the best U-17 players from their Colts competitions to represent their Regions.

Soccer Icons Football Club is pleased to confirm Seidu Salim will become head coach of the team from the beginning of the 2023/2024 season of the Upper West Regional Division Two League.
The young experienced coach who signed a 2-year deal has already started work at the club and has spearheaded two friendlies with the team.
Coach Seidu Salim has a lot of experience in the league having guiding Wa Future Stars Football Club three seasons ago.
Soccer Icons Football Club have made some significant signings ahead of the new season to straighten their squad. They ended the season on 3rd on 22 points and could not qualify for the Middle League.
They recently changed their name to Soccer Icons Football Club from Tumu Liverpool Football Club.

Wa Suntaa Sporting Club have confirmed the appointment of the experience coach Abubakari Mumuni Sokpara as their new head coach ahead of the 2023/2024 Access Bank Division One League which kick start in two weeks time.
Coach Abubakari Mumuni Sokpara was in April 2022 appointed as the Technical Director of the “We Believe” family before joining betPawa Premier League side Nsoatreman Football Club for the 2022/2023 season.
The former Wa All Stars coach left the Nsoatre based club in July 2023 and has since been without a club.
His new club, Wa Suntaa Sporting Club stated that his “strategic vision and dedication to excellence” are in line with the team’s ambition.
Wa Suntaa Sporting Club will start the season from home against Tamale City Football Club who got relegated from the betPawa Premier League last season.

Ismail Abdul Ganiu joins Ethiopian side Dire Dawa City Football Club after leaving TP Mazembe last month.
Ismail Abdul Ganiu (27), played for Wa All Stars where he won the 2016 Ghana Premier League and moved to Karela United before joining Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC and was appointed the team’s captain.
The 27 year old joined Iraq side Al Talaba Sports Club on a year deal and later joined TP Mazembe in Congo.
He joins two of his countrymen, Kweku Ando and Awudu Nafiu.

Philip Gary, who, to many is one of the best in the Upper West Division II League for seasons now left the Duori based club, Wa Power Sporting Club after two seasons.
He has been an important figure in the last edition of the Upper West Regional Division II League and helped the ‘We Can’ family gained their first ever Division One League slot after losing it to their rivals, Maana Football Club in the 2021/2022 edition.
In 17 matches and 11 starts in the 2022/2023 season, Philip can boast of 12 goals contributions to His name in the League. He scored 7 goals and provided 5 assists which made him emerged as the ‘Best Playmaker’ in the league last season.
In the 2022/2023 Upper West Middle League final game between Wa Power Sporting Club and Busa Golden Football Club, Philip Gary provided an assist to his teammate Adamu Karim to opened the scoring which they won by 2:1.
The striker has not officially announced his next club, but a fan’s comment on Facebook, he said he will be join last season’s runner-up in the Upper West Regional Division II League, TF. Exponential Football Club.

The runners up of the 2022/2024 Upper West Regional Division II League, Golden Football Club renamed as TF. Exponential Football Club following a successful takeover in the previous season.
This strategic move aims to bring a fresh perspective and inject new energy into the team, as well as capturing the attention of football enthusiasts across the region.
Golden Football Club came as underdogs in the 2022/2023 season in the Upper West Region where they topped their zone in the group phase of the league. They went in to play the middle league finals against the league winners, Wa Power Sporting Club.
Golden Football Club was based in Busa, a small community in the Upper West Region. The team is now based in Serekpere, in the Nadowli/Kaleo district.

Osman Haqi scored his first goal for Bodrumspor in the TFF First League after playing 81 minutes in 3 games for the Bodrum bases team.
The Ghanaian forward came off the bench on the 63′ minute and scored his side 4th goal on the 89′ minute after attempting only two shots in the game.
This is the second win for his side, Bodrumspor after failing to win their first two games, and their second win in a row.
The 21 year old Ghanaian forward joined the Bodrum based club on a 4-year deal prior to the start of the season from Yeni Malatyspor after a season long loan at Rizespor.

Osman Haqi has completed a move to Turkish second tier side, Bodrumspor Football Club on a 4-year deal from Yeni Malatyspor.
The Ghanaian attacker joined the Turkish Super Lig 1 side in 2021 making 30 appearances and scoring 5 goals.
The former Wa Power Sporting Club player was later loaned to Çaykur Rizespor in 2023 where he made only 3 appearances after his mother club, Yeni Malatyspor withdrew from the Turkish top flight when the devastating earthquake hit Turkey.
Bodrumspor Football Club were 4th on the league table in the 2022/2023 season with 62 points, 6 behind Caykur Rizespor, who were on 68 occupying the 2nd position.

Bechem United Football Club forward, Hafiz Wontah Konkoni have today, Saturday, July 29, 2023 joins Tanzanian giants, Young Africans Sports Club on a two year deal.
Hafiz Wontah Konkoni in the 2022/2023 betPawa Premier League scored 15 goals and came second in the goal king chart.
The 23 year old first joined “The Hunters” in 2017 from Bolga All Stars scoring 9 goals in 22 appearances before leaving the shores to Northern Cyprus. He returned in 2019 and have scored 26 goals in 85 appearances. In all, he has scored 35 goals in 107 appearances.
Sudanese and Ghanaian giants, Al Hilal Omdurman and Accra Hearts of Oak were interested in the striker.
Young Africans Sports Club won the 2022/2023 Tanzania League and were for the first time in their history reached the CAF Confederation Cup finals which they lost to Algerian side, USM Alger.
They will be competing in the 2023/2024 CAF Champions League and are looking to strengthen their attack.

Wa Power Sporting Club CEO, Mr. Salifu Musah Buntoh aims a premier league spot after gaining qualification into the 2023/2024 Access Bank Division One League.
In an interview with sportsworldghana.com, he said, “I took over the team three years ago, and it has been good amid all the challenges.”
He added, “The first season we couldn’t qualify for middle; we could not do the same in our second season as we ended up as runners up. But we have been able to do that this year with a remarkable feat as we went 19 games unbeaten, 14 games in the group stages, 11 wins, 3 draws, and in the middle league, 5 games, 5 wins.”
Furthermore, “At this stage, my aim is to qualify the team for the Premier League within the shortest possible time frame.”
“We won’t rest on our oars until we have been able to achieve this. I know it won’t be easy, but it’s doable,” he added.
The CEO is expected to gather sporting strategies In order to cope with the new division they are to compete in the coming season.

The Upper West Regional Football Association chairman has today made it known to the media about his support for the incumbent Ghana Football Association President for his second coming.
He made this at the Alban Bagbin jersey presentation to the three division one clubs.
Alhaji Yahaya Sadugu Biyad recounted some of the Achievements of Kurt Okraku to the Media present and also rolled out the intended policies and programs that will help Regional football development if the nod is given to Kurt again.
He also used the opportunity to officially announce his intention to seek re-election in the upcoming RFA elections, Alhaji Biyad spelled out some of his achievements in the three (3) seasons post Covid-19 and earmarked more areas to look into once given the continuation by Clubs.
Among his legacies include securing and renovation of the current four (4) room office space of the RFA to facilitate swift running of affairs.
